Christine Sharon Duncan

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I announce the passing of my best friend and sister, Christine Sharon Duncan on January 8, 2026 at the age of 71.  Born in Batley, West Yorkshire, England to Donald and Sheila Cooper, she dedicated her life to her younger sister, Tina, family, friends and her beloved dog, Aggie.  Predeceased by her husband and love of her life, Donald Duncan. Christine was known for being the best aunt to her two nephews, Michael and Andrew and for her love of Vancouver Island.  She is survived by her sister, Tina (Robert), nephews, Michael (Ashley) and Andrew (Paula) and great nieces, Jayda, Harper, Abigail and Poppy.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the incredible nurses and doctors that helped Christine with her almost five-month journey.  We would also like to thank the exceptional nurses and staff at Matthews House in Alliston who cared for and supported her and her family in her final weeks as did her friend, Paul from BC.

Donations to Matthews House would be greatly appreciated.

A bench dedication for Christine and her mother Sheila, is planned at Gull Lake Rotary Park, Gravenhurst. A cremation has already taken place, and a celebration of life will be held at a future date.
