In Loving Memory
Earl Gordon Watts passed on February 22, 2022 at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital two weeks after his 98th birthday. Earl, born February 8th, 1924, was raised in a loving family of market gardeners in Etobicoke township. At 19 years old, he enrolled with the Air Force and served from 1943-1946 as an aero engine mechanic during WW2. Upon leaving the Force and a short stint running his own dump truck business, Earl met and married Betty (nee Beacock), a school teacher, in 1950 and then started his career at Kodak in the powerhouse. His son, Bradley, joined the family a few years later. Throughout his working years, Earl enjoyed fishing trips across Ontario with friends. Upon retirement 30 years later, Earl and Betty enjoyed lawn bowling, winters in Texas, and visits with their 3 grandchildren. He continued fishing, took up wood carving, belonged to various seniors clubs, volunteered delivering meals, and loved to travel on cruises around the world. His love of family and friends shone throughout his life; he kindly touched many lives and we are all better for it. He will be missed.
Earl is survived by son Bradley, grandchildren Michael, Elaine and Andrew, and great-granddaughter Blake.
Earl is proceeded in death by wife Betty and brother Ross.
Earl lived the last years of his life at Champlain Manor and his family would like to extend gratitude for their kindness and care.
