Kathleen (Kay) Mary Bassingwaighte

Kathleen (Kay) Bassingthwaighte passed away on Thursday January 29th, 2026 at Stevenson Memorial Hospital, Alliston.

Kay was the beloved wife of the late Emery Bassingthwaighte.  Dear mother of six children; Charles of Hillsdale, Mary of Dunchurch, Diane of Cookstown, Dorothy of New Brunswick, Yvonne of Pahrump Las Vegas, and Carolyn of Calgary.  Dear grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.

Kay will be remember for her smile, her involvement in the early years in Cookstown as a Brownie leader, Girl Guide leader and later with Boy Scouts and Cubs. She will also be remember for the many costumes she sewed for the figure skating club in Alliston. Many of the young people she was involved with still remember their time spent with her.   

Cremation has taken place.
