Mary Jane Wurtz, born November 21, 1934 suddenly passed away on January 8th, 2024 at home. She was shy just one year of her 90th birthday. Mary Jane was a true artist and always mastered each kind of art. She endeavoured in painting, drawing, stained glass, macrame and sewing. Jane worked along side her late husband in their own stationary store in Richmond Hill for 10 years, and at the post office in Thornton and Stoud where she met her luncheon pals. Her most important job was looking after and raising her family. She ingrained in us how to be resilient, strong, enjoy life, and brush off the negative. Jane was as we all know a tough and independant woman. She was always quick in mind and wit. Although we all saw that she was a bit nickpicky, and dryly sarcastic, her spunk, honesty, and ability to laugh and enjoy most days of her life will be an inspiration to follow. She never gave up on anything and would prefer to do things on her own rather than ask for help. Jane is so loved by her family in Michigan, her friends, and children Karen, Mitchell, and Chris. She has three grandchildren who love her for all her quirks, Kelson, Brennan, and Hudson. Jane was beautiful inside and out. Her presence in this world has been an honour. We will miss our mama dearly. Be at peace as you may Join your brothers and sisters, Nellie, Chuck, Leo, Earl, Gloria, and David, and your husband after 40 years.
