Nancy (Segedinac) Stevens

Nancy (Nada) Stevens (née Segedinac) passed away suddenly, with her son Jonathan and daughter in law Katelyn by her side, after a tragic house fire. She was 69. 

Nancy was survived by her son Jonathan (Katelyn), her sister Dorothy (Dusica) (Mike), her grandchildren Dax and Josephine, and her nephew Stefan. She was predeceased by her husband Philip Stevens and her father Radovan. She was loved by her cat Scotty, who sadly was lost in the fire. 

Nancy was born in Serbia in 1952. She came to Canada in 1964. It was here that she met her husband Philip in the early 80’s. They worked together at Canada Trust. In 1984 their son Jonathan was born. In 1986 they got married and in 1989 they moved to Alliston. She was a stay at home mom, raising Jonathan until she found a position she loved as a secretary at Alliston Union Public School. It was there that she developed the Hot Lunch program, providing lunch for children who didn’t have one. It was important to her that every child had a full tummy. She retired in the mid 2010’s. She loved going for walks around the neighbourhood, and reading. She spent a lot of time in her garden, for which she was very proud. She took part in the Communities in Bloom in Alliston, an non profit organisation that works to foster environmental awareness and sustainability. 

She will be greatly missed by family and friends. 

In lieu of a funeral service, the family will be holding a joint celebration of life for Nancy and Phil, during the summer, date to be determined.
