Patricia Ouwendyk

Patricia Ouwendyk, a compassionate and devoted nurse, passed away on February 16th, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on March 6th, 1943, in Parry Sound, she lived a life defined by care for others, strength, and dedication to her family.

Pat began her nursing career at Royal Victoria Hospital, where her journey in healthcare first took shape. It was there that she met Jack, beginning a lifelong partnership rooted in love and commitment. In a full-circle moment, she also spent her final days at Victoria Village, surrounded by care and familiarity in a place that had meant so much to her throughout her life.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jack. She is survived by her children, Michael (Sarah), Brian (Darlene), and Lynn (Dan), and her cherished grandchildren, Dakota, Sierra, Sydney, Peyton, and Reese. She found great joy in spending time with her family, and her warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

Outside of her work and family, Pat found peace and happiness in her garden. She took great pride in her flowers and the time she spent outdoors, tending to her garden with patience and care. She especially loved being out in the garden alongside her husband and her grandchildren, sharing those quiet moments together. Watching things grow brought her joy, and her garden was a reflection of the same love and attention she gave to those around her.

Pat and Jack also shared a love of travel and theatre. They enjoyed exploring new places together and attending theatre shows, creating lasting memories through the experiences they shared. Whether at home or away, they treasured the time spent side by side.

Above all, Pat deeply loved her family and cherished every moment spent together. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest pride and joy. She was incredibly strong and resilient throughout her life, facing challenges with quiet courage and grace. Her strength, warmth, and unwavering devotion to those she loved will be remembered always.

In keeping with Pat’s wishes, there will be no service at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada in her memory.
