Pierre Joseph Arsene Brassard, born March 4, 1945 to Ladislas Brassard and Aurore Bousquet Brassard in the city of Montreal, Canada.
Pierre was a jack of all trades and spent a large part of his adult life working with horses and later attending the Farrier Science Program in Dawson Creek, British Columbia. He began his business and worked as a farrier for many years while living in Cookstown, Ontario, until a back injury ended his shoeing career. From then until retirement, he worked in his own trucking business. After retirement his true-life passion came to light. His love of the water and sailing was apparent to anyone who knew him.
Pierre (Beets) Brassard passed away peacefully at his home in Wasaga Beach, Ontario on July 25, 2023, at the age of 78, surrounded by family.
Survived by his wife of 49 years Marilyn Lalonde Brassard, daughters Jeanene Brassard (partner Mauri Thibodeaux), Michelle Brassard Bryan, (husband Robert Bryan) and son Randy Brassard (wife Rachael Jamnicky Brassard). Grandchildren Sean Brassard, Nicholas Lloyd, Tyler Bryan, Josh Bryan and Cadence Brassard, sister Lise Brassard, Gale (partner Howie Nakamura), brother in-law Allan Lalonde and nephews Louis Brassard and Jean Luc Brassard.
Pierre will always be loved and remembered by his family and his friends.
