Ruby Isabel (Davis) Beers

Ruby Isabel Beers (née Davis) lived a long and full life. Ruby passed away on Thursday, May 22nd, in Barrie, Ontario, at the age of 98.  Ruby was predeceased by her husband, Dalton Beers, and was the last of the Davis family siblings.  Ruby grew up in Cookstown and then spent her adult life in Barrie, working for General Electric until she retired. Making friends and travel companions all along the way!

Family, travel, swing dancing, music, and friends – Ruby treasured all of these.  She inspired all of us to travel as much as possible and live life to the fullest.  The stories of Ruby’s travels are legendary!

Ruby’s nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great nephews will cherish the memories of Aunt Ruby and how much she loved them.  Nothing brought her more joy than hearing about the lives of her extended family (and sometimes hearing about their crazy antics!).  

The family will host a memorial gathering at Paul F. Kent Funeral Home in Cookstown on Saturday, June 21st from 1:00 – 3:00. 

Ruby will be missed.  We’re grateful to have had her in our lives for as long as we did.
