Shirley Carole Turner

Shirley Carole Turner of Thornton passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Royal Victoria Health Centre, Barrie on Sunday March 26th, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Gordon Turner. Dear mother of Linda (Warren); Alan (Jill) and dear grandmother of Aryn (Dan); Bradley (Kayla); James; Amber (Josh); Sarah (Preston). Her five great grandchildren will miss their loving GG. Shirley was an avid curler and loved to travel around Canada and the U.S. to car races with her husband and family.  Shirley and Gord owned automotive repair shops and gas stations in Cookstown and Thornton for many years. A Celebration of Shirley’s Life will be held on Saturday April 29th, 2023 at Country Side United Church, 7 Robert Street, Thornton from 1– 3pm.  Cremation has taken place. (Arrangements entrusted to the Paul F. Kent Funeral Home, Cookstown).
