Stanley Copeland Obituary

Copeland, Stanley Earl age 94, of Alliston, formerly of Newton Robinson, passed away peacefully at Stevenson Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, July 26th, 2022.

Stanley was born on February 16th, 1928 to Myrtle (Bateman) and Russell Copeland in West Gwillimbury.  Beloved husband of the late Muriel (Shaw) Copeland. He was a longtime resident of Newton Robinson before relocating to Alliston. Stanley was a proud tow truck driver and mechanic operating Copeland Towing.  Stan received a medal for his bravery saving lives during the horrific 1973 multi vehicle collision on the 400 highway near Barrie and was honored to be inducted into The International Towing & Recovery Hall of Fame, Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Stanley is survived by his sister Mildred Tripp, sister-in-law Grace Copeland, daughters Linda Copeland, Beth Carter (Fred), Gloria Copeland and Valerie Stone (Bob), grandchildren Sandy, Megan, Nick, James, Rebecca, and Kate, and great grandchildren Gabrielle, Alex, Ryland, and Quinn.  Stanley was predeceased by wife Muriel, brother Lawrence, and daughter Susan.

Visitation is on Monday, August 1st 1:30 to 3:30 at the Paul F Kent Funeral Home Ltd, 16 King Street North, Cookstown, ON. Donations in Stan’s memory can be made to Stevenson Memorial Hospital, Alliston or Matthews House Hospice, Alliston.
