Stephen Elliott, age 64, passed away suddenly at his home on February 24, 2025.
Steve was born in Montreal on April 21, 1960, and moved to Ontario in 1976. For almost 40 years, he made his home in Hockley Valley, where he preferred a quiet, solitary life. Though he kept to himself, Steve’s presence in the community was felt through his service as a volunteer with the Adjala-Tosorontio Fire Department. He worked for 37 years at Air Canada at Pearson Airport.
A lifelong gearhead, Steve’s passion for mechanical work began at the young age of 15 when he bought his first project vehicle. His love for cars, engines, and tools was a constant in his life, and up until his passing, he continued to work on projects including his 73 Plymouth Duster.
Steve was also a devoted animal lover, and his dogs were an integral part of his life. They brought him companionship and comfort, often sharing in his peaceful, solitary days.
Steve is survived by his parents, Thomas Elliott and Mireille (Heroux) Elliott; his sister, Wendy (Michael) Doyle; his niece, Holly (Jose) Soriano; nephew, Tyler Doyle-Davies; and great-nieces, Hope, Sage, and Meadow-Lyn. Though he valued his solitude, he maintained a quiet connection with his family, who will remember him fondly.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Steve’s memory to the Haven of the Heart Animal Sanctuary.
Steve’s passing leaves a gap, but his memory, though quietly held, will remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
