William (Bill) George Draper

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of William George Draper, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and a friend to many, who left us peacefully on Friday June 6th, 2025 at the age of 91.

Bill was predeceased by his wife, Ruth. He is lovingly remembered by daughter Sandra, son Wayne, grandchildren Lee and Samantha and great grandchildren Justice, Kingston, Daemyn, Oliver, Maverick, Theodore & Ivy. 

Bill was a dedicated member of the Cookstown & District Lions Club, a respected member of the Manitoba Lodge #236 and his passion for helping his dear friends Paul & Ellen Kent in their business was matched only by his unwavering work ethic and determination which he instilled in his children. For decades, he poured his heart into every endeavour of Ruth’s, building a legacy of integrity, perseverance and devotion to her.

Public visitation will be held at the Paul F Kent Funeral Home Ltd (16 King St N, Cookstown, ON L0L 1L0) on Thursday, June 12th from 2pm-4pm & 7pm-9pm.

There will be a Masonic Service under the Auspices Manitoba Lodge #236 on Thursday June 12th, 2025 6:30 p.m. following the visitation.

A small private funeral will be held for the family members on Friday, June 13th, 2025 at the Cookstown United Church Cemetery

           Any memorial donations in Memory of Bill may be made during the visitation to Bradford Valley Community Long Term Care.

Bill’s passing leaves a gap, but his memory, though quietly held, will remain in the hearts of those who knew him.  We are grateful to have had him in our lives for as long as we did.
